If you are looking to create you very own lets plays, and don't want to invest a lot of money.
Here are some products that will get you by and their price cost.

Recording Tools:
Fraps- $30.00 - Pretty cheap works great, and you won't need to upgrade later!
Mic-  Logitech less than $9.99 @ Walmart - This is what I used in the beginning. No it isn't the best thing but for that price it works!

Graphics Program:
Gimp FREE - It works very much like any other high end Photoshop program! 

The major difference... ITS FREE!. ^__^
